A Hitch In Time
Published last year, legendary improv comedian Andy Smart’s travel-memoir A Hitch In Time his roguish days, hitch-hiking through Portsmouth and around the country, finding himself in often dangerous yet hilarious situations.
It is a collection of side-splitting tales, childhood memories along with outlandish travel memories that have been retold in bars and comedy clubs but never been in written form until now.
Andy performed at the birth of The Comedy Store alongside Paul Merton and Mike Myers and continues to play improv games there to this day. Last August he performed at his 40th consecutive Edinburgh Fringe, and he’s also a regular at the Shrovetide football match in Derbyshire town of Ashbourne – a 16-hour game with goals three miles apart and very few rules – and the Pamplona bull run.
